soundwave festival perth

yeah so well Soundwave festival came to perth on monday and it was friggin awesome. minus the fact that it took around 45 minutes to get a hamburger patty (yeah apparently it is normal to have run out of proper food by almost 8pm!) anywho, :)

(yeah that was taken really early in the day)

a heap of people from other states have been complaining about it taking near on 2 hours to get in but it didnt take us even 30mins so that was good. the guys from all time low were continuously just walking through the festival  but yeah i didnt run up to them (I B Shy!) so yeah that gave a burst of excitment and fangirlness! their set was pretty wicked sick awesome! haha which included them convincing a chick to take her shirt off and pretty much jiggle her boobs around for them :) it was actually pretty funny. umm scary kids acarying kids were also really really good. i dont know whether or not they are well known in other countries but in australia they dont get radio play or anything like that so hella happy i found their cd, but they are awesome so you should check them out if you havnt already! K!

MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE= WIN!!!!!

friggin hell highlight of the day. now officially love them! even after seeing jimmys hairy as hell arse! haha quite a shock XD

yeah mmmmmm sooo hahah oh yeah forgot about the whole adventure to get there . me and my friend (spacemonkey36) had to work 10 hours straight and then drive up straight after meaning we got to perth at 5 in the morning to then have to get up at 10 to go to the fest. then driv the 3 hour drive home that same night! DUDE we now know exhaustion! haha XD

yeah well that was fun for me to write, not so sure how you went though!

i love your Plumage!!

heheh that was said a huge amount of times at my graduation dinner, IT HAS STUCK :)

today was my last day at school ever, finally graduated!!  dont really know what to feel as of yet, on one hand it is a little sad cos admitting the truth i will not see every one of my friends from school after this. but then also it means no more school and all the stress that comes with it.

either way it is a strange feeling that something i have been doing for the last 12 years, year after year, wont be there anymore.

Bands that i can remember seeing

yeah well i have felt like doing this for a while now, not that there are many to be bragging about i have just felt like doing it :)

??-??-1994                  THE ANGELS- i was about 4 years, i went with my mum it was like a small outdoor gig that like the prize for some contest that someone my mum new won. i can still remember being there, so officially my first concert EVER was when i was 4 years old , which is pretty cool :)

1st September 2006    KASEY CHAMBERS- thinking back i dont really know why i went to this my mum likes her way more than i did (surprise surprise thats who i actually went with!)

6th January 2007         SOUTHBOUND FESTIVAL- These are bands of which i saw the majority, complete, or just a meroable portion of their set!

                                    Wolfmother

                                    Basement Jaxx

                                    Modest Mouse

                                    The Vasco Era

                                    The Presets

                                    John Butler Trio

                                    The Flairz

                                    You Am I

                                    Eskimo Joe

26th January             YOUTH GROUP - saw them playing for an australia day thingy in perth, there were three other sort of support acts before hand though it was WAY too hot so i just went down to it in time for these guys, hardly any people so it was good :)

25th February          GYROSCOPE

BIRDS OF TOKYO - another day that was way too stinking hot, plus it was a free gig, which makes it even better :) went to this with my friend (spacemonkey36)  pretty much all in all it was an awesome show!

i have a feeling i am forgetting something from here, but  obviously if i have forgotten it then it wasnt really worthy anyway :)    cant wait for the southbound festival next january, me and bunch of friends are going so should be good XD

top 10 bands

I have been almost waiting for someone to tag me to do this, so thanks to xxpuremorningxx for doing just that!

1) Pick your 10 favorite musical artists.
2) Tag the journal "top10bands" so we can have a full tag page of all our lists!
3) Pick 8 more people to do this! Make sure to link them to your original post

10.) Wolfmother

i managed to see these guys at a fesival early this year and they were awesome! i just love their sound how although it is quite similar to music from way back it is different to most of what is going around at the moment.

song that got me into them: Mind's Eye

song i love at the moment: Woman

9.) My Chemical Romance

i have to admit i have only really started listening to them since their welcome to the black parade album, mainly i think because i hadnt even heard of them before but anyway.

song that got me into them: welcome to the black parade

song im loving now: teenagers

8.) The Grates

love the fun which is in the music., basically dont really know what to say about them really :)

song that got me into them: science is golden

song im loving at the moment: rock boys

7.) Gyroscope

an awesome australian band, whose album i cant wait for!!

song that got me into them: fast girl

song that im loving: beware wolf

the variety in their music is really cool so basically you can listen to it whatever you feel like listening to.

song that got me: best of you

song i love now: the pretender

5.) The Vasco Era

ok now this is going to sound a little sad but i first heard of them and got into them through my mum. she went and saw them live and came back with their ep cd, which i absolutly loved!

song that got me into them: kingswood

song i love now: honey bee

well i dont think that anyone who likes nirvana really needs to explain why, everyone knows!

song that dragged me in: come as you are

song i am loving now: something in the way

3.) Angus and Julia Stone

i really have no idea why i like them, i just do!

song that got me into them: paper airplane

song im loving now: all of me

2.) AFI

i have to admit i am much more into thier later work than their earlier stuff, i think that this is made possible because of the huge difference in music, genre if you like, between then and now. i have to credit spacemonkey36 a bit here for them becoming my number two!

song that got me into them: miss murder

song im loving at the moment: god called in sick today

1.) Placebo

ummmmm once again my obession with these guysjust came one day and i couldn't help it, not that i was trying!! i love brians voice :)

song that got me into them: The bitter End     -i saw it late one night on rage (late night music vid show) and had to find out who these awesome poeples were!

song that i am loving now: no other god,  brian molko and kristeen young      -true it is not one of placebos songs but i am really loving it.

August 22, 2007

ok random-ness

i have just really realised this and felt like sharing :)

i am in love with listening to Modest Mouse's song Float on

earlier in the year i was at a festival they were playing, though their set was postponed till basically last in the line up cos they hadnt all arrived , grrrr  :)

but anyway it is one of those songs were whenever i hear it i immediatly remember where i was and how much of an awesome time it was.   it was great cos me and my friend who i went with (yeah you hannah, hehe) were just off getting something to eat at about 11 pm i think at the food place, there was like no one around and on our way back we could hear them starting the song, it was really exciting running straight over to the stage to catch the rest of the song. i cant really explain it but it is definatly a Feel good song for me and it is awesome because when i hear it it reminds me when of that great time i had with one of my best friends

dunno why i really wrote this (and it didnt really come out right!) but i really really really love what the song stands for, for me :)   so there ya go! hopeing for something just as good to remember this year XD

August 17, 2007

poem thingy i found and it is pretty

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last...
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.

It was sent by a medical doctor.

August 14, 2007

i had been tagged for 8 facts

The Rules:
1. List 8 facts...only 8.
2. You must then list 8 TAGS at the end of the post. This means you must name 8 people on Buzznet who now have to post the same type of blog (journal entry), you can't tag people who have already been tagged.
3. Leave them a note on their page asking them to read your journal.

The Facts:

1. i am generally really really shy, if i dont know someone the first thing i want to do is just hide (which means usually just standing behind someone out of view).

2. i live in a small town in western australia, my two best friends live in the same town though i dont see them all that often cos ones a work-a-holic and the other lives down a dirt track! i am pretty much a homebody, which is kind of sad but there is not a lot to do when you havnt got your license, PLUS my computer is at home, i think  thats reason enough actually :)

3. i am in love with music of all kinds really. my favorite band is placebo, closely followed by AFI. though i like a huge amount of stuff from acoustic indie, to hard rock, dont mind a bit of metal though i cant stand their "singing", and at times classical, though it has to be really good!!

4. i play the piano and the guitar. i am best at playing the piano which i have been doing for around 7 years now, the guitar is coming along nicely if i must say so!

5. i am a bit of a nut, actually no i AM a nutcase, dont really think that there is much to say to xpand on that!

6. i would much rather be up late at night than up early in the morning. for many reason i like the night because a.) it means i get to sleep, and b.) it means i dont have to go to school

7. i am in year 12 at high school which has like 7 weeks till the end of the year and then i am free, thank god!!  though i probably wouldnt see my friends as much which would suck, big time!!

8. ok now this one isnt really about me but it is pretty random so thought why not. My mum is friggin obssed with myspace!!! i have always thought that the whole internet blogspot thing has been portrayed as a place for suicidle, emo outsiders (that desription is to balme from one of the australian news programes). well anywho!

I TAG

April 3, 2007

funny ass moral thingy

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a
well. The animal cried piteously for hours as
the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the
well needed to be covered up anyway;

it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and
help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began
to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the
donkey realized what was happening and cried
horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he
quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally
looked down the well. He was astonished at what
he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his
back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel
dirt on top of the animal, he w ould shake it
off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey
stepped up over r the edge of the well and
happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds
of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well
is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out
of the deepest wells just by not stopping,
never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.

Live simply and appreciate what you have.

Give more.

Expect less

NOW ............

Enough of that crap
. . . The donkey later came back,

and bit the farmer who had  tried to bury him.

The gash from the bite got  infected and

the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong, and try to cover
your ass, it always comes back to bite you.

20 Ways To Maintain A Healthy Level Of Insanity
1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with suglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.
2. Page yourself over the intercom, don't disguise your voice.
3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.
4. Put your garbage can on your desk and label it "In."
5. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over their caffeine addiction, switch to espresso.
6. In the memo field for all your checks, write "For Smuggling Diamonds"
7. Finish all your sentences with "In Accordance With The Prophecy"
8. Don't use any punctuation
9. As often as possible, skip rather than walk.
10. Order a diet water whenever you go out to eat, with a serious face.
11. Specify that your drive through order is "To Go."
12. Sing along at the Opera
13. Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems don't rhyme.
14. Put mosquito netting around your work area and play tropical songs all day.
15 Five days in advance, tell your friends you can't attend their party because you're not in the mood.
16. Have your co-workers address you by your wrestling name, Rock Bottom.
17. When the money comes out the ATM, scream "I Won!, I Won!"
18. When leaving the Zoo start running towards the parking lot, yelling "Run For Your Lives, They're Loose!!"
19. Tell your children over dinner, "Due to the economy, we are going to have to let one of you go."
20. And the final way to keep a healthy level of insanity.............
Send this to someone to let them smile

i didnt wite this

HATE EMO?
READ THIS:

Isnt it funny that when you go to the shops with your friends you look down at the girl with black jeans and studs but smile at the girl wearing a a mini with a tshirt that barely cover anything?

Isnt it funny you can change your music taste to impress a guy but when it comes to a girl who likes her own music and her own style, you give her a mouthful?

ISNT IT FUNNY that a guy can get away with being a gangsta but the emo gets a mouthful from everyone

are you laughing?

Isnt it funny a emo can be quiet all through the week but gets more shit from everyone than the girl who sleeps around and sells her virginity?

ISNT IT FUNNY that you dont mind your friends drinking, smoking but the minute someone mentions emo music you can give them a lecture on melodramatic teenage outcasts?

im not laughing.

ITS SO FUNNY that you and your friends can make a girls life hell and not know anything about the silent battle she might be fighting.

ISNT IT FUNNY that you can call emos, punks, goths the retards but still manage to get through your day without an inch of guilt in your heart.

HOW YOU CAN CALL A GIRL A POSER, HOW CAN YOU SAY "YOUR NOT EMO" OR "ATTENTION SEEKER" WITHOUT SPENDING A SECOND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY THERE ARE CUTS ON HER WRISTS AND WHY SHE SPENDS HER LUNCHTIMES CRYING INSTEAD OR LAUGHING WITH HER FRIENDS

KEEP ON LAUGHING

isnt it funny you can say and do all this without any idea of what is going on in this persons life

without knowing her situation with her friends

or her family

or her LIFE

BRAVE ISNT GOING UP ON STAGE AND STRIPPING

BRAVE IS NOT SAYING A SPEECH

OR DUMPING YOUR BOYFRIEND

BRAVE IS

GOING TO SCHOOL ON MUFTI DAY AND NOT FOR A SECOND CARE WHAT THE WHORES AROUND YOU ARE SAYING ABOUT YOUR CLOTHES

ITS LISTENING TO YOUR OWN MUSIC AND BEING PROUD OF IT

ITS GOING THROUGH EVERY DAY WITH THE THINGS PEOPLE SAY TO YOUR FACE AND BEHIND YOUR BACK AND YOU STILL KEEP QUIET

ITS KNOWING WHAT YOUR "FRIENDS" ARE SAYING ABOUT YOU AND STILL CALLING THEM YOUR FRIENDS

BRAVE IS KNOWING THAT TOMOROW ISNT A BRIGHT AND HAPPY FUTURE

ITS ANOTHER DAY OF BITCHING AND DODGING RUMORS

KEEP ON LAUGHING.

if you agree put this in ur journal.

i still call australia home

i would like to start of by saying that feel sorry for but am totaly grateful to all the bands that played on australia day down at langly(?) park.

i was in perth on australia day staying in a hotel like 500m away from the stage so it didnt take long to walk there but by that stage the rubber on the bottom of your shoes would have melted off, not joking it was that hot!

the bank holidays, the panda band, red jezebel, and youth group were playing on a stage facing the sun, now take into account that it was a 40 something degree sun. i would like to say that the organizers are dumb (which they  may be from there stage positiong skills) except for the fact that all of those bands were free, yes ladies and gentlemn free. they were all awsome youth group played sort of two sets. the first one they said that they were not going to move in fear of getting hotter. so their second one at around dusk they played what they called their aerobic set, which included my favorite daisychains, forever young and catching and killing.

i think that another best about the whole thing was the lack of people. at one time there were five people standing in front of the stage and the furthurest you would have been back was a max. of about 3 people, though this did swell when forever young came on. which is crazy because youth group play heaps of just as good songs, but there you go.

it is my birthday in a week, yay, and my friends a week later so good times are coming
